How to improve teacher skills and knowledge about computer.

Teachers had a biggest influence in the students learning development. It is important for the teachers to be a role model through their attitudes toward and use of computers.

To improve the teacher skills and knowledge about computer, the teacher must:
i.) be able to participate in hands-on workshops with some opportunities for follow-up training.
              - for example, the in-service workshops helps teacher to gain a comfort level with technology as a
                first step in the process.
              - you are also encouraged to take a formal class through your community college or adult education
                program.
         ii.) experiment by yourself
-try to train yourself with the computer so that you will know at least a basic of using it. It is good
for you to explore some important applications such as the Microsoft Word or Microsoft Power
               Point.
        iii.) join online courses
              - the online courses offer educators an opportunity to gain basic practice in using the Internet and in
learning how to link technology with classroom practice.
             - it offer ways to learn, access and integrate technology in the classroom.
             - through this method, the teacher computer use is often enhanced.

Early Childhood Education should use technology as a tools for communication and collaboration among professionals as well as a tool for teaching children. As early childhood educators become active participants in a technology world, they need in-depth training and ongoing support to be adequately prepared to make decisions about technology and to support its effective use in learning environments for children. In order to extend their learning, the teacher should reflect on the practice and participate with colleagues in a virtual community of learners.

The preschool teacher should realize that using computers with young children is not the same as using computers with the older ones as their learning environment  and the developmental characteristics of the children is a lot more different. By improving the teacher skills and knowledge about computer, the teacher would be able to increase their learning about and with computers, as well as be able to communicate with other professionals and implement appropriate curriculum and assessment activities with technology.
